In a resolve to take forward his fight with Governor Ram Naik, Samajwadi Party general secretary and Uttar Pradesh Urban Development minister Mohammaed Azam Khan said that he would meet President of India Pranab Mukherjee over this issue. “Why is the governor so angry with me for writing a letter to him. Is there any constitutional binding not to send letter to the GovernorIJ Even during the British period no one was prohibited from writing letter to the governor. Then why this Governor is angry with me,’ he told reporters here on Wednesday.
The tussle between the Minister and the Governor has taken a political turn with BJP asking Chief Minister to sack him for using unconstitutional language against the Governor. The BJP also stayed away from Governor’s address to the joint session of UP legislature to protest Khan’s behaviour. He said he was collecting evidence about Naik and his public statements which were not at par with his Constitutional position. “I will soon meet the president to clarify my position,” he said.
Hitting out at BJP and RSS he said both the organisations have not changed their ideologies even after Delhi defeat. The leaders of both these organisations are t making statements to confuse the people. “The recent statement of PM Narendra Modi on religious tolerance and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comment saying that women are not a machine to bear children were a part of the strategy to confuse people because recently we have seen Ghar Vapsi programmes organized by VHP and how a BJP MP and VHP leader had asked Hindu women to bear more than four children. There is contradiction in the statements of PM, RSS and VHP leaders. This contradiction is aimed to creating confusion,” he said.
He said there is a contradiction in the statements of the RSS and BJP leaders which is a clear proof that they have changed their strategy in wake of the Delhi assembly defeat. When asked about BJP MlA Suresh Rana getting Z category security he said: “When the Gujarat accused could become the Badshah anything can happen. UP government has no role in giving security to Rana.”
Terming the boycott of the BJP in the joint address of the UP legislature by the Governor, Khan said that it was an ‘ insult’ to the governor by BJP.
