Attempt to disturb communal peace in Kannauj

PNS

Unidentified miscreants made an attempt to disturb communal peace and harmony by throwing pieces of flesh inside the Lord Shiva temple in Talgram police station area of Kannauj district in the morning on Saturday.

The officials of district administration and police immediately reached the temple and got the flesh removed and the area cleaned.

A case was registered against unidentified miscreants and a hunt was launched to nab them. However, the police were yet to find any clue to the miscreants.

The officials also pacified a mob which started a protest outside the temple and controlled the situation.

As per reports, the priest of the temple, Jagdish, spotted pieces of flesh in the havan kund of the temple located in Rasoolabad village. The news spread like a wildfire and also reached the police.

A police team led by Talgram Station House Officer Hari Shyam Singh reached the spot and got the pieces of flesh removed and the entire temple premise washed.

As the news spread, workers and leaders of several Hindu organisations assembled at the temple and blocked the Talgram-Indergarh road. A heavy police force was deployed at the scene and the officials pacified the mob. The police registered a case and assured the people that the miscreants would be arrested soon.

The locals said unidentified miscreants had thrown pieces of flesh in another temple in the locality on July 10 but the police had failed to arrest the miscreants so far.
