The official version of the Archaeological Survey of India is out and the digging at the Daundiya Khera village has been temporarily suspended. Sources in the department informed that the trenches were being filled up and the team from lucknow will leave on Wednesday morning.

Highly placed sources at the department that said that they have already communicated to  the higher ups in the department that there is no gold in the area. "It is more than hundred percent confirmed that the there is no gold in that area. When we hit the natural layer we knew that there was nothing here and thus we have duly informed that the digging should be stopped. However it will become official only after there is a written intimation from the higher ups" said the source.

Incidentally the ASI has received quite a few brick bats because of this move of taking up the digging at the Raja Ram Rao Bux Court. The digging which commenced after a preliminary report by the GSI which is the Geological Survey of India confirmed that gold could be found at a depth of five feet and twenty feet. The GSI team had carried out a preliminary survey after a well known seer had approached the Minister Agriculture with the request of digging in the area. The site caught the attention of the media and brought in huge crowds from the time the digging started in the area. The site digging created a hullaboo with descendants making the so called claims to the treasure. The whole media circus however came to an end with the ASI calling of digging.
