BJP has questioned the statement of Aparna Yadav, daughter-in law of Mulayam Singh Yadav, about ending reservation on caste lines saying her statement reflects the mindset of Yadav family members.

BJP general secretary and MP Bhupendra Yadav said that statement of Aparna Yadav shows that she has anti-backward, anti SC and anti-ST mentality. “Aparna Yadav belongs to Saifai family so its obvious that other family members too had their consensus in this statement,” he told reporters here.

The BJP demanded that Samajwadi Party should clarify its stand on this issue. “Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav should issue a statement to say whether he ascribes to Aparna’s assertion or not,” he said.

Aparna Yadav, who is SP candidate from Sarojaninagar assembly seat, said that caste based reservation should end and instead reservation based on economic should be implemented. She claimed that many in upper caste are poor and need support.

later she said that she has never said that reservation should end. “I only advocated that instead of caste financial status of a person should form basis of reservation,” she said and added that though she beloned to backward caste she will not avail reservation for her daughter.

While SP spokesperson and Minister Rajendra Chaudhari said that statement of Aparna Yadav was her personal view He admitted that poor and needy of upper casts should also get reservation.
