On the lines of Saifai Mahatsov, which is organized in the native village of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh government will organise ' Rampur Mahatsov' in the constitutency of Urban Development and Minority Welfare Minister Md Azam Khan, who happens to be the Muslim face of the party.
A week-long cultural extravaganza, named' Jashn-e-Jauhar', the Rampur Mahatsov will be held next month at JauharUniversity in Rampur in memory of noted litterateur Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is likely to inaugurate the event for which Rs 58 lakh has been sanctioned by the state government, a senior official said. Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, along with almost all the senior SP leaders and ministers in Akhilesh cabinet are expected to participate in the Mahatsova. The Yadav Sr. is expected to grace the closing ceremony, the official said.
MohammadAli Jauhar Universityis controlled by Jauhar Trust headed by Md Azam Khan. Recently, Mulayam Singh Yadav has been appointed as visitor of the University. like Saifai Mahotsav, the Jashn-e-Jauhar will also be made an annual affair, sources said adding cultural programmes and trade fair would be organized during this fete.
Events, including sports meet, cultural performances by school children and mushairas for Jashn-e-Jauhar have been planned. Several universities will be invited to participate in the event.
The officials, however, did not confirm whether dance and song shows presented by cine stars would be held in Rampur. In Saifai mahotsava programmes presented by bollywood stars is a great hit.
The official said that final touches for the programmes, to be organized during the Mahatsova, would be given by Azam Khan. Rampurdistrict authorities said that funds have been received from the state cultural department for the Mahatsov. "Voluntary funds from common man are also expected for this Mahotsava," the official said.
