Amidst the controversy surrounding the transfer of SSP STF Amit Pathak to Gorakhpur under the influence of petrol lobby on Wednesday, the state government cancelled his transfer within 48-hours of the decision.
A Home department communiqué said that Pathak will continue as SSP STF while SP (law and Order) in DGP office Satyarth Anirudh, will be the new SSP of Gorakhpur.
SP Regional Intelligence in Meerut, Kalpana Saksena will be the new Commandant of Provincial Armed Constabulary in Gautam Budh Nagar.
The communiqué also clarified that the decision to cancel Pathak’s transfer to Gorakhpur was taken as the officer met with a serious accident and was not in the position to report for duty at least for six weeks.
Government was yet to take any decision about the fate of Manoj Tewari, who was earlier posted as SSP STF.
Soon after Pathak’s transfer order came on Wednesday, the media highlighted that the move was done to appease the petrol lobby against whom the officer carried out an exercise and exposed the cheating of public by providing less fuel in the petrol pumps by doctoring the machines.
