Continuing his war against the chief minister Yogi Adityanath on the social media, the Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has asked the chief minister to take care of thousands of the stray animals roaming the streets of the state capital before inauguration of the commercial run of the lucknow Metro rail constructed by the previous Samajwadi party government. Chief Minister is likely to inaugurate the metro rail here on September 5. lucknow MP and the Union home minister Rajnath Singh is also expected to be present on the occasion.
Akhilesh Yadav also shared the picture on Twitter of the control room of the lucknow metro rail when he was the chief minister. The caption of the picture said `` before enjoying the ride on the marvelous metro rail constructed by the Samajwadi party government, the chief minister should do something for the rehabilitation of over 5,000 stray cattle’s on the streets of lucknow’’.
The lucknow metro rail was the flagship of the previous Akhilesh Yadav regime. Metro rail was flagged off by the then Samajwadi party president Mulayam Singh Yadav in the presence of the then chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on December 1, 2016. The metro rail was run from transport nagar station to Alambagh station. The commercial operation of the metro rail could not be commenced as the clearance certificate was not given by the railway safety commissioner.
Akhilesh Yadav was also trolled on the social media for his comments. One user said `` if the Samajwadi party performed so well then why the people voted out this party in last assembly elections’’. One user also criticized the Yogi Adityanath government saying `` the BJP government has failed to deliver and its is only capitalizing on the good work done by the previous Samajwadi party government’’.
In another tweet Akhilesh Yadav regretted the present state of the rover Gomati in lucknow saying ``I am deeply pained by the present state of river gomati which our government had nursed so well by the Gomati river front project has now been defaced by the growth of the water hyacinth’’. The hyacinth is a highly problematic invasive weed that covers the water body. Yogi Adityanath soon after taking over as chief minister had inspected the Gomati river front project site and later ordered a probe by a retired judge of the Allahabad high court into alleged financial irregularities in the implementation of the project.
An executive engineer and one junior engineer of the irrigation department were suspended after the receipt of the report by the state government. The government later stopped further funding of the project as it had far exceeded the original estimate of the project.
