With the 2022 UP assembly elections closing in, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav came up with a rather innovative idea to woo and attract voters by launching a perfume branded as ‘Samajwadi Attar’.

The Twitterati have welcomed the launch of the new perfume with their opinions.

Coming in red and green bottles, the perfume has been made from 22 natural scents taken from 22 states of the country and the case of the perfume features a picture of Akhilesh Yadav with Samajwadi Party’s election symbol ‘cycle’ on it.

Samajwadi Party leader from Kannauj and Uttar Pradesh MLC Pushpraj Jain inaugurated the ‘Samajwadi Attar’.

This is not the first time that the party has launched a perfume as in 2016, Akhilesh as Chief Minister had launched a range of perfumes named 'Samajwadi Sugandh' to mark four years of his party’s regime in the state. The perfume was made of four fragrances, with each bottle capturing the fragrance of four different cities -- Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi and Kannauj.

Akhilesh represented Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency in 1999, 2004 and 2009 and later his wife, Dimple Yadav, was elected as MP from Kannauj in 2012. She, however, lost the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Kannauj to Subrat Pathak of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
