IN an attempt to speed up the process of setting up sainik schools in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has requested Union Defence Minister Arun Jaitely to sign MoUs for early setting up of 'Sainik Schools' in Mainpuri, Amethi and Jhansi.
In a letter to the Defence minister, that was released on Sunday, CM said that state cabinet has given approval for setting these sainik schools and now MoUs are required to be signed between the Central and UP government.
The CM in his letter mentioned that board of governors in the defence ministry and Sainik School Society on February 18, 2014 have given their approvals to set up these schools in Mainpuri, Amethi and Jhansi.
Official spokesperson here said that the letter also mention that the state government has already given budgetary sanction for setting up these sainik schools in the current financial year.
