After the political uproar following the use of indecent language on social media platform, Twitter, leading to the arrest of the social media operation head of the Samajwadi Party, the opposition party has announced to replace its entire social media team.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said here on Thursday that the party had changed the entire social media team. He, however, hastened to add that “there will be no compromise on the language to be used by the party on social media platforms”.

He added, “The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party needs to pay more attention to its language on social media platforms.”

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP had let loose a reign of oppression against its political rivals and opposition leaders were being framed in fake cases.

The SP has taken this decision after Manish Jagan Agarwal, who was handling SP's social media handle, was arrested for his indecent tweet. As soon as Manish Jagan Agarwal was arrested by the Lucknow police, many of his tweets started going viral on social media. In these tweets, very abusive language was used against the BJP's woman leader.

On the reservation for the Other Backward Classes in urban local bodies, Akhilesh Yadav said, “I have full faith in judiciary but we do not trust the dedicated commission constituted by the Yogi Adityanath government for the survey of reservation for OBCs ahead of deciding the reservation of seats/wards in urban local bodies.”

After the Twitter war, SP chief and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav decided to change the party’s social media team. Now a new team will look after the work of social media.

Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday released a calendar highlighting the long illustrious life of party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. He said today was National Youth Day commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He asked the youth of the country to take firm resolve to fight the politics of hate.

Questioning the claims of the Yogi Adityanath government, the SP president alleged that “phony claims are being made by the BJP government. Yogi Adityanath government must first make public the figures of the total money invested in Uttar Pradesh after MoUs worth over Rs 4 lakh crore were signed in UP Investor’s Summit in 2018”.
