Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for chanting `Jai Shree Ram’ during the Dusshera celebrations in Aishbagh Ramleela Ground in lucknow recently.

“A leader who spoke of ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikas’ during his election campaign has now given a `slogan’ while attending a function in lucknow pointing to what his priorities are for the coming Assembly polls,” asserted Akhilesh.

``I would like to ask you all that a leader, who assured of bringing in `achche din’, what has he given you so far IJ” querried Yadav. He was addressing a gathering after giving identity cards to 25 `Power Angels’ or Special Police Officer of the 1090-Women Power line in lucknow on Friday.

``The only work done by the NDA regime so far is to inaugurate projects or start policies which has already been taken up or completed during previous regimes. The present government atCentre has just changed names of old programmes and gave nothing new to the people,” he alleged.

“You all should support the Samajwadi Party in the coming Assembly polls. As it has fulfilled all promises made besides taking up several undeclared projects,” said Yadav.

Taking on Mayawati and the BSP, Akhilesh said that one leader did not want him to call her `bua’. ``What should I call her if all my elders called her ‘behenji’. The BSP has just erected stone elephants which keep standing, but are of no use. Had some trees been planted by the BSP, we could put some chairs there so that visitors could go and take rest,” said Yadav.

“The SP government started the 1090 Women Power line and the crossing has come to be known by itsname. I can see people enjoying late night strolls and street vendors doing good business there. With the start of Gomati Riverfront, the area will get a complete new look,” Akhilesh pointed out reminding the numerous development work taken up by his government that included Metro Rail, lucknow-Agra Expressway etc. Interestingly, the CM cursed the media for highlighting a wrong picture of UP as a `lawlessness’ state.

Chief Secretary, Rahul Bhatnagar, while hailing the work done by Women Power line in the state said that selection of girls from rural and urban areas and giving them the role of ‘Power Angels’ would facilitate the state’s resolve to curb incidents of eve-teasing and other harassment of women.
