Accusing Yogi Adityanath of betraying the people, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav said that if the chief minister had not migrated from Uttarakhand, then five years time of the people of the state would not have been wasted.

“The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is a failure on every front,” Akhilesh Yadav said while addressing a public meeting at the Kashyap Samaj conference in Muzaffarnagar on Thursday.

"Yogi came here yesterday and raised the issue of migration of people. But the truth is that if the chief minister had not migrated from Uttarakhand, five years of the people would not have been wasted," Yadav said.

On Wednesday, Yogi had blamed the previous SP government for the exodus of some Hindu families from Kairana.

Regarding the farmers' movement, Akhilesh said that the protest would continue till the three agricultural laws were withdrawn. The former chief minister said, “Our farmers can never benefit from these three black laws.”

Akhilesh said: “Now you tell me whether your income has increased or decreased in five years? The truth is that income has not increased, but inflation has increased manifold.”

Attacking the Yogi government on the promise of employment, Akhilesh said that when the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed in the state, 70 lakh jobs were promised and asked how many actually got the job.

Questioning the law and order situation in the state, Akhilesh said, "Baba (Yogi) says law and order is better in Uttar Pradesh but in Gorakhpur and Kanpur, the police beat businessmen to death.”

“If you want development, change this ‘thoko’ government,” he said.
