Akhilesh: Country needs another Sardar Patel

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the country needed another Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who could restrict divisive forces like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh so that the country could develop without any bias.
“Sardar Patel might be remembered by the country for different reasons. But for me, he would be remembered for banning the RSS,” Akhilesh said while paying tributes to Sardar Patel on his 144th birth anniversary in Lucknow on Thursday.
The SP chief said that today, a person like Sardar Patel was required in the country to take action against divisive forces trying to divide society in the name of religion.
The SP had directed all party units in the districts to hold functions on Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary.
On the occasion, Akhilesh Yadav also attacked the Yogi Adityanath government over the misrule in the state and claimed that law and order was at its lowest point.
“The law and order situation in the state has reached such a point that now even the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are being attacked and their lives are not safe,” he said.
The SP chief said that despite the tall claims of the UP government, unemployment in the state as well as in the country was rising.
“The condition of farmers is really bad in the state as their dues are not being paid for the past three years. The BJP government claims that it is giving higher prices to the farmers but in reality they are still not getting any profit from their produce,” Akhilesh said.
