A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday and briefed him about the preparations of Magh Mela in January and Ardh Kumbh Mela, slated for early 2019 year in Paryag.

The delegation was led by Chief of Akahara Parishad Mahant Narendra Giri and comprised around a dozen saints of different Sects.

The meeting took place at 5, Kalidas Marg, - the official residence of Chief Minister and continued for over 2 hours. The meeting assumed importance because it is held at the backdrop of Akhara Parishad declaring three Hindu Saints as fake.

Sources claim that saints showed their displeasure over preparation of Magh Mela in Paryag and demanded that Yogi should ensure that flow of Ganga should be ensured during auspicious snan. They said the flow of river was restricted and water was not clean as it should be.

Chief Minister has assured the members of Akhara Parishad that the flow of Ganga river would be maintained during Snan. Government has asked the tanneries in Kanpur not to throw their waste directly in the river. The effluent treatment plants should be made operational during that period.

CM also informed that the Kumbh celebration in 2019 in Allahabad would be a grand function. The preparations for that event has already started. The logo has been launched. The government would ensure that best possible facilities will be made available to the pilgrims, he said.

The Saints also discussed construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya. CM said though Government has no role in this but will follow the directives of the Court or the Central Government in letter and in spirit.
