ADG seeks Central deputation

PNS

Amidst controversy created by some media that ADG (law and Order) has proceeded on long leave after making a request to allow him to proceed on central deputation, police directorate on Thursday clarified that the officer was just on a personal leave and will join back on Sunday.

Sources also confirmed that Kumar has already sought permission earlier on and went with his family to Shirdi for darshan of `Sai Baba’ and that he not left the scene in any anger or protest.’

Arun Kumar was on a personal leave and will join probably by Sunday" disclosed IG (law and Order) RK Vishwakarma, while clarifying the controversy which arises after ADG (law and order) was found missing from his office on Thursday. Vishwakarma was also looking after Arun Kumar’s charge in his absence.

Interestingly rumours were also spread by some new papers that Dileep Trivedi, who is posted as Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on central deputation had met chief secretary Jawed Usmani and is likely to replace Director General of Police Deo Raj Nagar, who was seeking Volunteer Retirement. However, this was contradicted directly by Dileep Trivedi when during a press-conference here on Thursday afternoon, he not just denied but questioned that why a person sitting as DG of a central para-military force will come as DG of State.

``I don’t think that anyone would like to join as DG of a State after leaving as chief of central police organization which is a much senior post", asserted Dilip Trivedi while ruling out any possibility of  his returning to Uttar Pradesh. It may be mentioned that a sting operation already pointing towards high level political interference leading to worst ever communal riots in the State, the move of additional director general (law and order) Arun Kumar, showing his desire to go on central deputation has been said to be inspired with the manner in which the government handled the situation in Muzaffarnagar. However Arun Kumar was not available for his comment on the issue. Sources said that on September 2 last, ADG (law and order) Arun Kumar requested in writing before the director general of police, Deo Raj Nagar, that he was interested to proceed on central deputation. He earlier remained in the centre and came back to the State in the mid of 2010 when Mayawati was heading the government. The move was though a routine affair just like many other IPS officers who were more eager to work in the entre than in the State, but still it surprised the entire fraternity particularly when Arun kumar was holding one of the most prestigious and important post in the Police Department.

However what now raises controversy over Arun Kumar’s move in a sting operation telecasted on an electronic channel on Tuesday night. It showed the Police officers posted in Muzaffarnagar confessing before the media that how they faced political interference in dealing with the situation and some of the `suspects’ who latter triggered riots in Muzaffarnagar had to be released from the police stations on directions of a politician whom they identified as `Azam’.  Now in wake of this sting, the move of Arun Kumar to quit the post and proceed on Central deputation that too just in the mid when Muzaffarnagar was burning is termed as a calculated move as he was said to feeling `suffocated’ to deal with the situation in wake of political interference.
