The state government said that within three months of holding 'Investors Summit - 2018', foundation stones of around 80 industrial units with investment worth over Rs 50,000 crore would be done in June.
During the two day Summit in February, MOUs for investment of Rs 4.68 lakh crore were signed by different corporate groups with various agencies of the state government.
Industry minister Satish Mahana said in lucknow on Wednesday that the government was working fast on implementing the MOUs on the ground and foundation stone of 80 new industrial units will be laid involving an investment of Rs 80,000 crore in June.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be the chief guest on the occasion when big industrial houses like Reliance Jio Communication, Adani, World Trade Centre Infosys ltd, ACC, PayTM, Sunlight Bio Foods, TCS, Intex, Nature Fresh, and Metro launch their units in different parts of the state in June.
The Industry minister held marathon meeting with corporate leaders and chief executive officers to finalise investment proposals in the state. He also held one-to-one meetings with industry representatives.
Mahana said that all problems of investors have been sorted out and time has come for implementation of MOUs signed during the Investor’s Summit.
"UP has become the desired destination for investors as no state in the past has been able to attract investment within three months of holding Investors Sumit," he said.
Mahana claimed that Yogi Adityanath's one-year regime has brought investments which the state could not do in the last 15 years.
Industrial Development Commissioner (IDC) Anup Chandra Pandey said, “Smaller investments less that Rs 50 crores, which is around 600, would be done at the district level." Claiming that UP has done what no other state could ever think of, the IDC said that Investors Summit conversion in the past in all states was around 10 to 12 per cent but in UP, it has gone up to a record-breaking 60 per cent.
"Already four Strategic Business Units (SBU) have been set up in Industry department to talk to investors in a day-to-day basis and address their problems related to allotment of land, clearances from government agencies and NOCs," he said.
Pandey urther said, "We have also launched digital clearance window in Nivesh Mitra and soon, provisional letter of Content (loC) would be issued to investors."
The government has completed the process of verification of over 1,045 MoUs signed during the Summit. The process include checking their balance sheets and other details, so that no undesirable element got the benefit of various concessions announced by the state government for investors.
