In what appears to be a respite, only 1,175 fresh corona cases were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours with 136 deaths and 3,646 recoveries. The total number of active cases also came down to 22,877.
Reviewing the Covid situation with his Team-9 members in Lucknow on Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “In view of the decreasing infection rate of corona, 65 districts with less than 600 active cases have been exempted from Covid curfew.”
Officials informed the CM that there were no fresh cases in two districts while 37 districts recorded single-digit figures. On Thursday, the state carried out 3.18 lakh tests, taking the tally to 5.07 crore. The recovery rate has also gone up to 97.4 per cent. So far, more than 1.94 crore doses of Covid vaccines have been administered in the state. Of these, 27 lakh were given to people in the age group of 18-44 years.
“People in the 18+ category are being vaccinated in all the districts. Special arrangements have been made for immunisation of parents of children below 12 years of age. In the last 24 hours, more than 3.82 lakh people got the vaccine jabs,” the CM said.
