Accusing the Samajwadi Party of maligning the image of Kannauj by launching ‘Samajwadi itra’ ahead of the Assembly poll, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the 'itra wale mitra' had gobbled up all funds meant for state’s development in construction of 'fort like houses’. He was referring to bundles of notes found stacked between walls during IT raids at the business premises and houses of perfume traders.
Addressing a joint rally in Kannauj and Chhibramau Assembly constituencies - the perfume capital of UP, and bastion of Samajwadi Party, Yogi said that his government made all possible efforts to put perfumes made in Kannauj on the global platform. Slamming the SP for always misleading the public, and defaming the state, the Chief Minister said, "The SP leaders and workers were seen nowhere during the Covid pandemic. Whereas the double-engine government at the Centre and UP used the funds and resources to administer free vaccines to people, provide free treatment and feed the poor."
Highlighting the Covid management in the country and the state under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yogi said that the UP Government tried its best to save lives and livelihood during the pandemic. "Beemari se bhi zyada maut bhook se hoti’ and that is the reason we provide free ration twice a month during Covid-19," he said
Asserting that the BJP was committed to the welfare of all without any discrimination, the Chief Minister said that his party took the mantra of ‘sabka sath sabka vikas’ mantra for development of villages, security of women, farmers, employment to youths among others. Yogi contrasted the development works by his government with that of the erstwhile SP regime.
“My government worked for the welfare of the poor while the SP government stopped the pension of the elderly and widows. Construction of roads, universities, airports, highways, pure drinking water, medical colleges has been done at a rapid pace in the state during the BJP regimes,” he said.
“A potato food processing centre is coming up in Kannauj. Potatoes will be purchased from farmers at minimum support price. The Samajwadi Party has been responsible for scams, fielding criminals and orchestrating riots every fourth day during its regime. Ab dange nahin, sirf kanwar yatra nikalti hai," the Chief Minister said.
Yogi further said, "We are also committed to protecting farmers’ interest. We waived off the loan of farmers in the state. Besides, over 2.50 crore farmers are getting Rs 6000 annually under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. During Samajwadi Party’s five year tenure only 18,000 people were given houses under PMAY while his government provided houses to 43.50 lakh people and constructed over 2.60 crore toilets in the state."
