Sir — This refers to the article, “Was Rohith a cannon fodder for Ambedkar Students’ AssociationIJ” (January 30) by Anish Gupta and Aaleya Giri. The main point presented in the article is well taken, but is diluted by the ‘do not speak ill of the dead’ endeavour, to present Rohith Vemula as brilliant, magnanimous and sensitive.
Rohith may have wanted to write like Carl Sagan, but there is evidences to prove that he certainly did not speak like Sagan nor was he magnanimous or sensitive in his conduct. He was also not ‘brilliant’, if one understands the word.
