Sir — This refers to the report, “Delhi Police inducts 60 women Public Facilitation Officers” (February 18). While the common man freely approaches the police station with his complaints because of the radical change that has taken place in the department over the years, women are still reluctant to visit a police station.
The appointment of women facilitation officers will certainly encourage the women lot to a great extent to visit a police station and register complaints. Moreover, this will also brighten the image of the police and improve the day-today function in police stations, as women are considered more sincere, honest and hard-working than their male counterparts.
