Sir — Intense firing across the India-Pakistan border along the line of Control (loC) have hurt the prospects of peace returning to the State of Jammu & Kashmir. There are flagrant violations of the ceasefire agreement and both India and Pakistan are striking aggressive postures. This has led to casualties on both sides along the loC. Many Indian soldiers have lost their lives and fragile peace along the loC has collapsed. This is time for the Indian Government to engage in a dialogue with Pakistan to help bring a sense of calm and serenity to the disturbed areas.
