Sir — This refers to the report of a Sena leader trying to force-feed a Muslim caterer when the latter was observing his Ramzan fast. The unruly behaviour of our elected representatives inside and outside Parliament brings shame to our democracy and cannot be accepted. After the all-round condemnation, the man in the eye of the storm, Shiv Sena leader Rajan Vichare, has pleaded that he didn’t know the employee was a Muslim. Did he mean to say that he had the right to act the way he did if the employee was a non-MuslimIJ Getting physical with others is a criminal act, whatever may be the provocation. Since the Shiv Sena is an ally of the BJP and part of the Government, such disgraceful conduct reflects adversely on the BJP.
