Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Perils of being sensible” (October 8). It is not uncommon in the Congress that whosoever praises Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s style of functioning, will be subjected to scurrilous satire, if not shown the door.
On October 2, the Prime Minister had chosen nine well-known celebrities from different walks of life, including cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, actor Salman Khan and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, for his ‘Clean India’ drive. Although Mr Tharoor clarified that Mr Modi’s campaign had nothing to do with politics, as this initiative was a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the controversy has refused to die down.
