Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Matter of wrong timing” (April 21). All except the Congress and its apologists will agree that the appointments being made by the Union Government to top positions in the defence services are in unseemly haste. Even if it has evidently accepted the overwhelming possibility of its exit, the Congress-led UPA regime could have still had a say in the appointments after it sits in the Opposition. There was no need at all for this rush and adverse criticism.
