This refers to the article, “leftists stir the pot at IIT Madras” (June 3) by Kumar Chellappan. When the study circle, named after Dalit messiah BR Ambedkar and Dravidian leader EV Ramasamy (Periyar), suddenly hit the headlines because of its malicious anti-Modi rhetoric, one had suspicions about its political connections. This article confirms those suspicions. CPI(M) card-holders are dominating the humanities department at IIT(M) and trying to turn the elite institution into a fortress for communist ideology, like a JNU for south India.
It is shocking that a large section of mainstream media, known for its anti-Modi tendencies, has gone to town, screaming about the murder of democracy and free speech, as IIT Madras has banned the Ambedkar-Periyar Study Circle. The media has failed in its duty to objectively probe this bigoted, casteist, anti-Hindu study circle and its reportedly dubious communist links.
