In the passing away of Shamshad Begum, the music industry has lost one of its poignant and haunting voice which delighted many both in this and the neighbouring country and continues to thrill us even today. Begum will always be remembered for songs like Mere piya gaye Rangoon, Kahin pe nigahen kahin pe nishana and Boojh mera kya naam re.
