Sir — This refers to the article, “Kashmir’s problem and resolution” (May 10) by Sudip Bhattacharyya. We cannot tolerate local Kashmiri citizens to openly defy militants. Government has to restore law and order, instill confidence in administration. Government must tone up administration.
There is need for a shake-up, right from the Governor to the Station House Officer level. In the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, we need some tough knowledgeable Ministers like former bureaucrat RK Singh, who can take care of the laggards and Pakistan-sympathisers that abound in large number in and outside offices.
