Sir — This refers to Mr Jairam Ramesh’s comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Maunendra Baba”. This is a most unbecoming remark. let Mr Ramesh recall the record of his own Prime Minister of the UPA, Mr Manmohan Singh, who could not even protest after an ordinance cleared by the Cabinet was humiliating discarded in public by his own Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
Of all the Prime Ministers since 1947, only Mr Manmohan Singh was the silent one. Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee spoke often on important issues. Mr Modi too has been doing that. He has been raising social concerns and offering practical and novel solutions through his Mann ki Baat address.
