This refers to the report, “Push comes to UPA's Guvs” (June 18). It is intriguing to observe the feverish debate on the issue of the new Government at the Centre supposedly asking certain Governors to leave.
The media has been expressing its opinion against the idea of the present Government edging out Governors appointed by the UPA regime. One cannot recall any such objection from the media when the UPA summarily did away with the NDA's appointees to the post. It was then indulgently accepted by the media as the given privilege of a changed regime.
Now, however, everyone seems horrified by this seeming intransigence of a BJP-led Government, despite the blatantly hostile approach of some UPA-appointed Governors to the BJP. This attitude is noticeable on other issues as well. It appears that the media is gearing itself to be almost deliberately hostile to the BJP-led Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
