Sir — There is a common saying: A bad workman blames his tools. True to it, Mumbai’s situation turned from bad to worse as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) blamed mega infrastructure projects for the monsoon floods rather taking strong steps to check the growing flooding spots.
The whole of Mumbai got flooded and people suffered a sea of problems to the extent of being deprived of food and livelihood. It may give rise to epidemics. Metro connection work cannot be sidelined as it is one of the basic means of commuting for a common man. It is BMC’s responsibility to make the whole city flood-free and construct a strong drainage system.
