Settling matters

KV Seetharamaiah

This refers to the report, “SC wants Ayodhya verdict via parleys” (March 22). After nine failed attempts to resolve the vexed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid issue, the Supreme Court has asked to make yet another attempt for amicable settlement. If this attempt also results as an exercise in futility, it would be better to pass a legislation in Parliament, paving the way for the construction of Ram temple.

At the same time, suitable site must be provided for the Muslims for the construction of the mosque. However, there can be no better substitute than an amicable settlement to solve this vexed problem.
