Sir — Mr Narendra Modi said the right thing on the issue of the Archaeological Survey of India’s gold-hunting in Daundiya Khera village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh.
He rightly stated that instead of digging up near monuments on the basis of a dream, the Government of India should hunt for the billions of rupees in black money stashed away by Indians in Swiss banks. There was no need for Modi to go on the backfoot on his statement after a close aide of the dreaming seer Shobhan Sarkar said that the sadhu was hurt by the insinuations Mr Modi about his dream. Having reverence for the seer is different from having regard for the latter’s strange dreams.
