Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Politics of the clerics” (April 11). Muslim organisations must know that they are using religion in politics and doing it in the name of secularism.
India’s only minority community which has suffered near extermination is the Hindu community of Kashmir. The Muslims did not have to leave Gujarat despite all the anti-Gujarat propaganda done by the Islamists.If the Muslim clerics want to save secularism they will do well to ask the ‘secular parties’ to snap diplomatic ties with Islamic states, as these countries do not have a secular Constitution.
