Sir — This refers to the article, “Distortionists in the garb of historians” (November 26) by A Surya Prakash. Mr Narendra Modi has done a great service to the country by highlighting issue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. C Rajagopalachari had opined that Sardar Patel as Prime Minister and Jawaharlal Nehru as External Affairs Minister would have been ideal. Similarly, JRD Tata had said that the Sardar would have been the better Prime Minister.
The author has also done well to highlight Mr Arun Shourie’s book on so-called eminent historians. Sita Ram Goel and KS lal also exposed such sarkari historians. Mr NS Rajaram too has published well-researched books on Indian history.
