Sir — An additional 27 cities from nine States, including the Prime Minister’s constituency of Varanasi, have been included in the third list of smart cities. Making our cities smart is welcome, but along with our cities, it is also necessary that villages be developed. Villages need not be converted into cities, but basic necessities have to be provided.
