Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Fight to the finish” (June 16). Ever since the ceasefire were called off by the Government during Ramzan in the Kashmir Valley, there have been debates about whether this was the right move considering that there are continuous ceasefire violations from Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.
Now the gunning down of Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari and the abduction and killing of an Army jawan is the last nail in the coffin and the Government should not extend this beyond Eid.
With Bukhari’s death, we lost a great voice who always advocated for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue. If this is a signal from the terrorists, our Government and Army must reciprocate immediately.
