Revamp education

Mahesh Kapasi

Sir — It is important for the nation to get a new education policy as it is beyond imagination that a student can score 499 out of 500 marks. What is astonishing is that the number of students getting more than 90 per cent is huge. Is the marking system at faultIJ A committee must examine and review this.

It is due to such high cut-offs that many bright students are unable to secure admission to even decent colleges. India needs a practical approach to its educational system. Both teachers and parents must help the children strike a balance to enable their holistic development. Besides, it is also essential that yoga and meditation be made compulsory for students in schools. This will help them make right decisions in life.
