This refers to the article, “Viewing Savarkar in a new light” (June 1). It is a shame that today, few Indians know about great revolutionaries like Surya Sen, Bagha Jatin, Kanailal Dutta, Khudiram Bose, Kalpana Datta and Pritilata Waddedar. The life story and heroic death of each of them inspired thousands of others to join the freedom struggle, in spite of the threat of gallows, bullets and inhuman torture. Hopefully, India’s history will be re-written in the near future.
