This refers to the article, “Doing business in India is still a nightmare” (July 27) by Joginder Singh. I congratulate the writer for his relentless crusade against corruption through his various articles published in The Pioneer. In his latest one, he has brought to light the hurdles one has to confront before setting up a new business in India. Though many people, who have earned money by dint of their hard work in foreign countries, are avid to embark on some sort of business, aiming at their success as well as for the progress of the nation, they are discouraged by the cumbersome procedures and the unfair attitude of the bureaucrats in our Government departments.
Aspirants have to run from pillar to post and ‘please' different officials for the necessary approvals/licences. If they fail to gratify even one official, that will collapse the project and shatter their cherished dreams. Haunted by this nightmare, people generally refrain from investing in India.
