Red herring

Suraj Bhan Singh
Sir — The Archaeological Survey of India has now told us that there need not be tonnes of gold beneath the temple in Daundiya Khera. The question then is: What is the ASI been digging for since October 18IJ Also, why is there so much excitementIJ
It is possible that, having started the digging, the ASI is worried that nothing will come out of it, and so it is downplaying the event.
Perhaps the entire exercise was a strategy of the Congress-led UPA Government to divert people’s attention from the alleged involvement of the Prime Minister in the coal block allocation scam. If the Government is serious about saving the economy and increasing growth, it must bring back the black money that Indians have stashed abroad.
