Rahul's concern is fake, it is instant politics

Hansraj Bhat

Between 2004 and 2014, for 10 long years, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was sound asleep, though money lenders were robbing the poor farmers across the country in the latter's hour of crisis. During this term, the maximum number of suicides by farmers was reported, including from Vidarbha in Maharashtra, where the Congress was in power along with the Nationalist Congress Party. Now, suddenly, he is pretending to be the farmers' saviour by creating unwanted havoc over the land acquisition Bill. This is nothing but sheer publicity stunt after the Congress's debacle in the 2014 lok Sabha election.

People should remember that, during the last 10 years of Congress rule, the price of essential goods had gone up dramatically. Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes around the world to attract investors and industrialists, so that Indian youth can get job opportunities for the next many decades. Mr Gandhi's jibe at the trips was uncalled for and in bad taste. He must grow up.
