Sir — This refers to the article, “long on promises, short on deliverance” (May 24) by Kalyani Shankar.
The writer has rightly pointed out that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has surely lost sight of her priorities and goals. It seems that her ultimate goal was merely to oust the left regime.
She has taken for granted the faith reposed in her by the electorate and she perhaps wrongly believes that this power and confidence reposed in her leadership will remain as it is. If she means to serve the people, she must tread the ‘rule of law’, to win in the harsh game of politics. Or else she will be shown the exit, sooner than later.
