Pseudo-seculars are silent over Islamist brutalities

PN Saxena

This refers to the article, “Pseudo-seculars in communal attire” (August 4) by Balbir Punj. The writer has aptly described the medieval mentality of some fanatic Muslims of India and their silent supporters among Congress and communist-minded pseudo-secularists.

They made a hue and cry on an isolated event at Maharashtra Sadan, but are silent on the happenings of Islamists who have wreaked havoc in Iraq. As mentioned by the writer, a leading Muslim cleric, Ali Miyan, whose house Congress president Sonia Gandhi did not forget to visit during the election campaigning, had openly instigated a campaign to mobilise five lakhs Indians to go to Iraq in support of the terror group, Islamic State.

let the Congress snap its links with such dangerous people in the interest of communal harmony in the country. But our pseudo-secularists turn a blind eye and deaf ear to such appeasement. It's time they wake up from their slumber.
