This refers to the editorial, “Modi vindicated again” (December 27). Thursday’s court verdict is a resounding slap on the faces of self-styled anti-Modi activists. So many agencies and courts have exonerated the Gujarat Chief Minister but vested interests are keen to settle scores with him knowing well that Mr Narendra Modi cannot be challenged on his home front. His pitch-forking to the post of BJP's prime ministerial candidate has left many seething with rage.
The setting up of a central inquiry commission to probe ‘snoopgate' is laughable when the Gujarat Government has already constituted a similar commission. Clearly, the UPA wants to score brownie points over Mr Modi, when it is on its last legs. The man who is protected by peoples' mandate is unlikely to be dwarfed by any backroom manoeuvre of the UPA.
