Promoting Sanskrit

Adnyat

Sir — This refers to the article, “Pointless youth anthem in Hindi” (July 5) by Sudip Bhattacharyya. Certainly, Sanskrit must be the national language and also the common language of India. Children should learn Sanskrit, English and their mother tongue until the eighth class and then,

instead of continuing with the mother tongue, they should study two other languages from different language groups that are different from the group to which their mother tongue belongs.
