Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Things that went wrong” (January 11). There is no shame in raising hands and accepting mistakes. But if Prime Minister Manmohan Singh keeps insisting that the coal block allocations were done in good faith and it is just that the issue didn’t work out the right way, he is just not admitting his mistakes.
More so, when he himself was not in favour of distributing coal blocks without auction, he should have put his foot down.
But then, we don’t call Mr Singh a Prime Minister without authority for nothing. His lack of will and decision-making ability has cost the nation dear. He must introspect on whether it is right for him to claim integrity.
