Sir — It is wrong to blame Mr Narendra Modi for visiting the families of the Patna blast victims, and call it politically motivated. By that logic, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s failure to visit the grieving families too is politically motivated because he does not want to harm his minority vote-bank interests.
Mr Modi’s detractors keep demanding an apology from the Gujarat Chief Minister for the 2002 violence. If he does apologise, they will claim that he has done so out of political considerations! Either way, he is going to be criticised.
