Sir — This refers to a report saying the Congress is upset that the iconic lata Mangeshkar has endorsed Mr Narendra Modi’s candidature for prime ministership. The Congress believes that the Bharat Ratna is a party handout, and not a national honour bestowed by the President, which is why one its leaders has demanded that lata Mangeshkar be stripped of the recognition. Coming from a party which believes that the country belongs exclusively to the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, this is not surprising.
