Sir — This refers to the report, “Ready for scrutiny in coal scam: PM” (September 8). Surely, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh knows that his personal integrity notwithstanding, if those under him committed acts of impropriety, then he too is responsible.
Mr Singh has also said that he would be happy to work under Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. He seems to be a prisoner to the wishes of his party’s first family. Ever since the Congress president ‘sacrificed’ her right to be Prime Minister, a grateful Mr Singh has been acting as a bulwark for the dynasty. He is keeping the top seat warm for Mr Gandhi, but in the meantime, he has failed the nation by his various acts of omission and commission.
