Sir — This refers to the report, “Blue whale game claims life of 13-year-old in UP”(August 29). The recent news of children and teenagers committing suicides after playing the game ‘blue whale’ challenge is shocking as the last step of the game asks the player to commit suicide. Only games which develop problem solving skills, logical thinking and where youth learn to plan and strategise for future should be encouraged.
let us recall, ‘Vel’ is a weapon used by god (lord Murugan) to defeat all the evil forces. let today’s dynamic youth scream the battle cry ‘Vetrivel Veeravel’ (victorious Vel, courageous Vel) and overcome all challenges.
